PROMOTING THE CHOICE OF GOOD OVER EVIL

When things aren't panning out the way we planned and if we are not willing to say 'ok I took the wrong path', we weaken in faith and start to think God doesn't love us. We have to be willing to change paths and adjust, and careful not to get upset and give up; thinking we were denied by God. We can get caught in worldly worries and wonder 'why isn't it working for me'. Sometimes we seek riches for the wrong purpose; we want or ask for things that are out of the will of God.

When you ask God for something that is in His will, He will give it to you. But often not until you are ready for it. It will come in His timeline, and not your timeline. We have to be careful not to expect it when or how we see it. You have to be willing to wait for it or the anxiety will build and tear you apart.
When we ask for something it is usually like a person going to the doctor. We don't actually know what the problem is, but we list our symptoms as something wrong with us. And it is the same with God; He listens to what you ask for but also hears and sees things you aren't aware of, and can understand what is causing your symptoms. We must trust that He will prescribe what is necessary to make us better, and we must be careful not to demand just what we think will take care of our symptoms. We must be willing to submit our overall health and well-being to Him.

So when we ask God to deliver us from something we must be prepared that the deliverance may not be as we imagined it. And He may even tell us that the something we are trying to escape isn't what we thought, and He won't prescribe deliverance but recommend something else.
God will be glad you came to Him, but He can only give you things that will serve His will. What you think you need, and what He knows you need are often not the same. When you seek Gods help you have to accept that the help He gives will be as He sees fit, not as you see fit. You have to surrender your vision to His vision.
It would be like going into a burger king restaurant and trying to order something on mcdonalds' menu. You cannot go to God and order something on the worlds menu. He only serves up things on His menu.

He can provide you with opportunities of/in this world, but only if it is going to serve His heavenly needs. Mostly you have to be open to anything God puts before you or anywhere He places you. Also you must be open and ok with it to be only to serve His needs and/or purpose. You might not  see or think there be any benefit, but the benefit might not be for you. And that is true love of God (& true obedience to Him), to serve His needs and not expect Him to serve yours. To be a servant to Him and His children (your bretheren), and not Him to be a servant to you.

If you ask God for your intent you will disappoint yourself, thinking God let you down. If you ask God for His intent and accept it, He will not disappoint you and you will not let Him down. And He will lift you up.
